February 2017

Man I’m late posting this; to say we have been busy is an understatement. We’re mid kitchen remodel, Evan is in Swimming classes, weather is getting nicer, furniture shopping, walks on the trails, and back yard trampoline party’s ( in February no less!)

We did a ton as usually I guess busy is our norm plus I’m not very good at relaxing, unless it’s on a vacation especially a Bahamas vacation; we need to do that again soon.

So I was thinking what I would write about, given February was a month ago and my memory is a little fuzzy on the specifics of the month. As I played it all back in my mind I noticed/realized that we hungout with our friends the Fyesa’s. They have a son Evans age his first best friend this got me to thinking about how important friends are in the kids’ lives and Brenda’s and my life too.

Evan is becoming quite the social kiddo, staying home with Brenda his interaction with other kids has been limited. He has his sister and Cousin Harper and Lincoln; but there is nothing like playing with another boy/friend your age who’s into the same things you are. Guns, Dinosaurs, trains, and cars boy stuff that’s what he and his buddy Bennett play all the time for hours; now when I put him in the truck he says “Daddy we going to my buddies house?” he’s becoming such a little boy it’s the coolest thing to see and to see myself in him too, going through the same things, being kind of shy, having a few really close and tight friends. I’m so glad he’s found that because I know how much joy and fulfillment that brings.

I really enjoying catching up with friends too, so often I take on too much or we have a ton planned for a weekend and social time is the last thing to get addressed. I’m really recognizing how important that is for us how it’s relaxing and rewarding to sit with friends, many are also parents, and just talk about anything not relating to cartoon shows lol, although that comes up sometimes. It’s nice to compare parenting methods, share stories, talk about the past make plans for the future. I think people need that, at least we do, maybe it comes from the tribal beginnings of man or maybe it’s just that we have great friends who are in the same stage of life that we are; maybe it’s both or none at all lol.

We’re all just really enjoying the time with our buddies :)
