It’s April! i’ve been blogging, posting pictures, videos and saying for 4 years… so surreal to type that. I remember just deciding to start this one day, and surprisingly have kept it up!
Honestly the time has zipped by; it’s almost scary how fast it has all gone. I’m sure all of the parents reading this can relate, such a joy watching the kids grow and develop but also kind of, I don’t know heart breaking lol. To have them grow out of you carrying them around to have them grow out of wanting to snuggle with you, hold your hand, and the dreaded now be cool any more. Thankfully we haven’t reached the latter quite yet but I know it’s coming. But man it’s so rewarding to help these 2 sweet little souls on their journey, to guide, lead, and love them.
April 14th was 4 years or Marriage and life together. 4 years ago…. Madeleine was 3, Evan wasn’t even born, lived in Alexandria and I in Gainesville, and we hadn’t even considered buying a house in Fairfax station.
What I’m really enjoying now is the similarities between 4 years ago and current day. How Evan puts his hand behind my neck just like Maddie did, how he has his own little set of sayings and behaviors like Maddie did (and still does). How we all laugh and giggle at silly inside jokes still, how we all take family walks to the playground, how we all spend holidays and take trips . Call it routines, or whatever you will I call it the heart beat to the family it keeps pumping sometimes fast other times slow but always beating keeping us moving forward together.
I wonder if we will still be writing about our lives 4 years from now or 14. It sort of has become the history of our family all here on these digital “pages”. Maybe, assuming this medium still exists 30 years from now, our grand kids will be reading this. Who knows I’m just glad he have captured some of the amazing moments of our last 4 years here, to come back read, remember and hopefully smile and laugh a little.
